Our Story
The 100 Black Men of St. Mary’s Parish, Inc. became an official chapter of the 100 Black Men of America, Inc. in 1995, founded by a group of visionary African American men who recognized the need for strong mentorship, leadership, and advocacy within the Parish of St. Mary. United by a shared commitment to service, these men came together with one purpose, to uplift the African American community through education, empowerment, and positive role modeling.
From its inception, the chapter has been rooted in the belief that what men see is what boys will be. Many of the founding members were educators, elected officials, business owners, and respected community leaders who understood the importance of being visible, engaged, and accountable. Their leadership helped establish a foundation built on integrity, responsibility, and service.

Over the years, the 100 Black Men of St. Mary’s Parish has remained dedicated to improving the quality of life for youth and families through mentorship programs, educational initiatives, community outreach, and economic empowerment efforts. The chapter continues to serve as a trusted presence in the parish, addressing critical needs while fostering leadership development and personal growth among young people.
